How to Put CNIC Front and Back on One Page as a PDF

To get your CNIC front and back on one page PDF, open the ID Card Scan tool, capture or upload a picture of each side, crop them, and download the result. You get a print-ready A4 PDF with both sides of the card at real card size. It takes a couple of minutes on a phone and no photocopier is needed.

Banks, employers, universities, mobile franchises and many offices ask for a CNIC copy with both sides on a single sheet. Doing it yourself saves a trip to the photocopy shop and gives you a file you can reuse.

What a good CNIC copy looks like

Before the steps, it helps to know what the receiver usually expects:

  • Front and back on the same A4 page, not two separate pages.
  • The card shown at its real size, not stretched to fill the sheet.
  • All four edges of the card visible, with nothing cut off.
  • Every line readable: name, number, dates and address.
  • No glare across the photo or the printed details.
  • Space left on the page, which is often used for a signature, stamp or attestation.

Exact requirements differ between organisations, so read the instructions you were given. Some want color, some accept black and white, and some need an attested paper copy instead of a digital file.

How to put CNIC front and back on one page PDF

  1. Place your card on a plain, dark, flat surface in good light. A plain background makes the edges easy to see.
  2. Open the ID Card Scan tool in your phone browser.
  3. Capture the front of the card with your camera, or upload a photo you already took. If you use the camera, the browser asks for permission first.
  4. Crop the picture so only the card remains, with its edges straight.
  5. Turn the card over and capture or upload the back, then crop it the same way.
  6. Create the PDF. The tool places both sides on one A4 page at real card size.
  7. Download the file and open it. Zoom in and confirm that the number and dates are sharp.

PDFNova processes files in your browser, so your documents are not uploaded to a server. For an identity document, that is an important point.

Tips for a clear capture

Identity cards are small, shiny and covered in fine print. These habits fix most bad copies.

  • Avoid glare. The laminated surface reflects light. Tilt the card slightly or move away from the lamp until the shine disappears. Keep the flash off.
  • Hold the phone parallel to the card. An angled photo makes the card look like a trapezium and blurs one side.
  • Get close, then focus. Tap the screen on the card and wait for the picture to sharpen before you capture.
  • Remove the card from its cover. Plastic sleeves add reflections and haze.
  • Clean the lens. A fingerprint on the camera softens small text.

Printing the page at the right size

The PDF is already laid out for A4 with the card at real size. Problems appear when the printer rescales the page. In the print window, look for the scaling option and choose actual size or 100 percent, not fit to page.

After printing, place your real card on top of the printed one. They should match. If the print is smaller, scaling was still on.

Troubleshooting

The camera does not open

The browser needs camera permission. Allow it when asked, or check the site permissions in your browser settings. You can also take the photos with your normal camera app and upload them.

The text on the card is blurry

Retake the picture closer and steadier, in brighter light. Blur cannot be repaired afterwards.

One side looks darker than the other

Take both pictures in the same spot without moving the light. Shadows from your hand often darken the second shot.

The upload page says the file is too large

Reduce it with Compress PDF. Use the slider and the preview, and stop before the small print becomes hard to read. Check the limit shown on the upload page so you know your target.

Sharing your CNIC copy safely

A CNIC copy can be misused if it reaches the wrong hands. A little caution goes a long way.

  • Send it only to organisations you trust and only when it is truly required.
  • Consider adding a purpose note across the page with Add Watermark, for example the name of the organisation and the reason. Keep the opacity low so the details remain readable, and check that the receiver accepts marked copies.
  • When emailing the file, you can add an open password with Protect PDF and share the password in a separate message.
  • Delete copies from shared or public computers after use.

This is general information, not legal advice. Rules about identity documents differ by country and organisation.

Other cards and documents

The same method works for any card of a similar shape, such as a driving licence, student card or office card. Our general guide on how to scan an ID card to PDF with front and back on one page covers those cases.

Applications rarely need the CNIC alone. If you also have to submit educational papers, see how to scan degrees and transcripts into one PDF so your whole set is ready together.

Frequently asked questions

Can I make a CNIC copy on one page without a scanner?

Yes. A phone camera is enough. Capture both sides in the ID Card Scan tool and download the A4 PDF.

Is the CNIC copy in color or black and white?

The PDF keeps the colors of your photos. If the organisation wants a black and white copy, choose black and white or grayscale in your printer settings when you print.

Can I use photos of my CNIC that are already in my gallery?

Yes. Upload the existing front and back photos, crop each one to the card edges and create the PDF. Use the original photos, not copies that a chat app has compressed.

Will a digital CNIC copy be accepted everywhere?

Not always. Some offices need a printed or attested copy, or their own form. Ask the organisation what it accepts before you submit.

With a plain background, steady light and two careful photos, you can prepare a neat copy in minutes. Open the ID Card Scan tool and create your CNIC front and back on a single A4 page.
