Your files stay on your device.

1. Files you process

Almost every tool on PDFNova runs entirely in your web browser. When you merge, split, sign, compress, scan or run OCR on a document, the file is read and processed on your own device and the result is saved directly to it. These files are not uploaded to our servers and we cannot see them.

2. Server-based conversions

A small number of tools, such as the Office to PDF converter, are labelled as needing our server. If you use one of these, your file is sent over an encrypted HTTPS connection, converted, and deleted automatically within one hour. We do not open, share or keep copies of these files.

3. Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited and the time of the request. This data is used to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and understand overall traffic. Tool pages may also remember your recently used tools and theme choice in your browser's local storage; this stays on your device.

4. Contact form

If you contact us, we receive the name, email address and message you submit. We use this only to reply to you and do not add you to any mailing list.

5. Cookies and advertising

We may show ads from third-party networks such as Google AdSense to keep the tools free. These partners may use cookies to show relevant ads and measure performance. You can learn more and manage choices in our Cookie Policy and at Google Ads Settings.

6. Third-party libraries

To run tools in your browser we load open-source libraries (for example pdf.js, pdf-lib and Tesseract OCR language data) from public content delivery networks. These providers may see your IP address as part of delivering the files, but they never receive your documents.

7. Children

PDFNova is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, such as contact form messages. To make a request, use our contact page.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
